Andrew capital of Mississippi was the seventh president of the United States when the Cherokees were removed from their land in the southeast of america. On the Trail of Tears nearly one fifth of the Cherokee population died. slice on the Trail of Tears, the Cherokees suffered greatly because of the horrible conditions they were in on the right smart to the new land in Oklahoma. When Andrew Jackson removed the Cherokees from their land, he had to go through many steps to move them. The way the Cherokees were treated on the trail of tears caused many Cherokees great pain, deaths of friends and family, and suffering.The giving medication made promises saying that no Americans would settle in their new territory. The regimen and the Cherokees signed the Treaty of Hopewell in 1785. The Treaty of Hopewell set new boundaries of Cherokee lands.
